BookSmart Properties is seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Housekeeping Manager to lead our housekeeping operations. This position is responsible for ensuring that every vacation rental home consistently meets BookSmart's standards for cleanliness, presentation, safety, and guest readiness. The Housekeeping Manager will provide strong leadership, clear communication, coaching, and accountability across our housekeeping team and vendor partners. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, manages changing priorities effectively, and takes personal ownership of results. This individual will help build a dependable, high-performing housekeeping operation while supporting team members, resolving issues quickly, and ensuring every home reflects our commitment to Unreasonable Hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead daily housekeeping operations to ensure all properties are cleaned, inspected, and guest ready on schedule. Create and manage housekeeping schedules based on arrivals, departures, occupancy levels, staffing, and operational needs. Supervise, train, coach, and support housekeeping team members while maintaining clear performance and quality expectations. Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and pride in every property. Conduct property inspections and quality-control checks, promptly correcting cleanliness, safety, or presentation concerns. Respond quickly to same-day cleaning concerns, employee call-outs, guest issues, and changing operational priorities. Manage linens, housekeeping supplies, and inventory so team members have the resources necessary to perform their jobs successfully. Partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Guest Services, and Property Management to communicate property concerns and keep homes guest-ready. Identify recurring housekeeping issues and implement improved processes, additional training, coaching, or corrective action when needed.
Requirements :
Two or more years of experience in housekeeping, vacation rentals, property management, hospitality, hotels, or a related field. Previous supervisory, management, or team-leadership experience. Strong organizational, scheduling, and time-management skills. Ability to lead, motivate, coach, and hold team members accountable. Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to cleanliness, presentation, and quality. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with employees, vendors, property managers, guests, and other departments. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and technology. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between properties as needed. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays and adjust to changing operational needs during peak season.
