The Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for inspecting guest rooms and public areas to ensure hotel cleanliness, sanitation, and brand standards are consistently met. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work closely with Housekeeping, Front Desk, and other hotel departments to ensure guest rooms are clean, properly prepared, and ready for arrival. Housekeeping Inspector Responsibilities Perform opening and closing procedures for the Housekeeping department as assigned. Inspect cleaned guest rooms to ensure they meet hotel cleanliness, sanitation, presentation, and brand standards. Verify that guest rooms are properly stocked with linens, towels, amenities, and supplies. Inspect and disinfect high-touch areas when necessary to maintain proper sanitation standards. Identify cleaning deficiencies and communicate needed corrections to Guest Room Attendants. Inspect housekeeping carts, linen closets, and storage areas to ensure they are clean, organized, and properly stocked. Monitor the cleanliness and condition of hotel public areas. Ensure Housepersons maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in public and common areas. Report maintenance concerns, damaged items, safety hazards, and other guest room issues promptly. Communicate room status changes, early departures, and guest room concerns to the Front Desk. Update room status accurately and ensure rooms are released to the Front Desk when ready for occupancy. Assist with coordinating Housekeeping assignments and priorities based on hotel occupancy and operational needs. Respond professionally and promptly to guest requests or concerns when encountered. Ensure all Housekeeping team members follow departmental policies, procedures, safety requirements, and brand standards. Assist with training and coaching Housekeeping team members regarding cleanliness and quality expectations as needed. Support the Housekeeping team with room cleaning or other operational duties during periods of high occupancy when necessary. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Previous hotel housekeeping experience preferred. Previous Housekeeping Inspector or supervisory experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to communicate professionally with guests, associates, and management. Basic computer and hotel property management system experience preferred. Ability to speak and understand English sufficiently to communicate effectively and follow safety and operational instructions. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on hotel needs. Physical Requirements Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift. Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Ability to inspect guest rooms and hotel areas throughout the scheduled shift. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position for extended periods of time.
Pay:
$14.50 - $15.50 per hour
