Duties Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across designated areas. Handle chemical agents safely while using cleaning supplies and equipment, following all chemical-handling safety protocols. Operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and polishers to maintain floors in pristine condition. Sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to meet health standards and maintain a hygienic environment. Assist with light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, minor repairs, or painting as needed to support facilities maintenance efforts. Follow safe lifting practices when moving heavy objects or equipment to prevent injury during manual handling activities. Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, supply inventories, and safety inspections. Requirements Experience & Skills Minimum of [Insert Number] years of hands-on experience in commercial floor care, specifically performing strip and wax, scrub and recoat, and high-speed burnishing. Proven ability to safely operate and maintain industrial floor cleaning equipment, including side-to-side buffers, auto-scrubbers, and wet/dry shop vacuums. Strong working knowledge of floor care chemicals, proper stripping and neutralizing procedures, and finish application techniques for VCT, terrazzo, and sealed concrete. Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings preferred. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment operation (including floor buffers), and sanitation standards. Ability to handle chemical agents safely by following chemical handling safety procedures. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks required for moving supplies or equipment. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and visitors.
