Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to custodial duties, with an emphasis on both commercial and industrial cleaning practices. Expected Schedule Friday through Monday, 6-hour shifts Duties Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in designated areas. Maintain cleanliness of floors through effective floor care techniques including buffing and polishing. Conduct thorough cleaning of restrooms, break rooms, and common areas to ensure hygiene standards are met. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly. Carry out custodial duties in accordance with established protocols and safety guidelines. Occasionally assist with residential painting projects as needed to maintain facility aesthetics. Act as a porter by managing waste disposal and recycling efforts throughout the premises. Qualifications Previous experience in commercial or industrial cleaning is preferred but not required. Knowledge of custodial practices, including buffing and floor care techniques. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high cleanliness standards. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Good physical stamina; must be able to lift and move items as necessary. Excellent organizational skills with a commitment to maintaining clean and safe environments. Willingness to learn new skills related to facilities maintenance and custodial duties.
