Job Description
Year-Round Lifeguards, Rossmoor Walnut Creek About Rossmoor Rossmoor Walnut Creek is a nationally recognized community for active seniors who are 55 and older. With nearly 10,000 residents in 6,700 homes on 2,000 acres, Rossmoor is a beautiful, serene enclave about 25 miles east of San Francisco. With two golf courses, four swimming pools, tennis, pickleball, lawn bowling and numerous other activities, it is never dull in Rossmoor. Activity studios include dedicated facilities for art, ceramics, lapidary, sewing, and woodworking. Rossmoor also operates its own movie theater, TV station and weekly newspaper. The Lifeguard position enforces facility regulations, policies and procedures; monitors swimmer and non-swimmer activities in pool areas; performs assigned maintenance in accordance with policies and procedures. These are year-round, with full-time (40/hrs week) , and Part-time On-call (up to 19 hrs/wk) positions available. We offer flexible schedules with early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts open. Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Lifeguard's primary function is to ensure the safety of residents, guests, and family members in the pool and pool area.
- Ensures RWC policies and safety rules are followed; maintains appropriate discipline in pool areas; prepares incident reports as required, etc.
- When not actively guarding, welcomes residents and guests, answers questions about classes, schedules, policies, etc., pertaining to pools.
- Lifeguard duties include cleaning of pools, decks, equipment, maintaining chemical balances, etc.
- Other duties assigned falling within the purview of the Fitness & Aquatic Manager.
Requirements:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- Current American Red Cross certification in lifeguarding, first aid, CPR and AED for the Professional Rescuer are conditions of initial and on-going employment
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service, time and priority management
- Demonstrated excellence in teamwork and collaboration
Additional Requirements:
§ Clean and valid California driver license and satisfactory driving record are conditions of initial and continued employment; § Ability to meet the Dept. of Homeland Security requirements confirming identity and right to work in the United States is required; § Offer is contingent upon satisfactorily passing a pre-employment background check and drug test; § Previous employment must be verifiable.Pay:
