Our Fort Recovery Feed & Animal Division in Mercer and Darke counties, in Ohio, produces and delivers feed while providing support to our contract farmers raising animals for production. Cooper Farms is currently seeking a 1st shift Layer Production Manager to join our team in Fort Recovery. This role is responsible for leading and managing the chicken production department. The successful candidate will provide leadership in planning, decision-making, and daily operations while ensuring high standards for animal welfare, flock health, and overall production performance. The position focuses on driving continuous improvement, supporting positive team morale, and meeting or exceeding department goals. The individual will ensure proper animal care and husbandry practices while working closely with departments such as egg processing, sales, transportation, purchasing, finance, HR, and IT to support company objectives and achieve business results.

Job Functions:
Oversee live production operations across contract producer farms to ensure animal health, welfare, biosecurity, productivity, and quality standards are consistently achieved.
Lead and develop field service personnel responsible for monitoring flock or herd performance and implementing best management practices.
Manage contract producer relationships by providing clear expectations, operational guidance, performance feedback, and ongoing support.
Ensure producer compliance with company policies, production contracts, animal welfare standards, biosecurity protocols, and regulatory requirementsEnsure that through quality checks, egg quality issues are addressed by production team and shared with processing and sales on a regular and ongoing basis.
Partner with veterinarians, nutritionists, feed operations, hatcheries, processing, sales, and other departments to align production plans with business needs.
