The ideal candidate will possess a passion for engaging older adults through meaningful activities, with experience in event planning, recreational therapy, and senior care. As an Activities Assistant, you will play a vital role in fostering a vibrant, inclusive environment that promotes social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. Duties Plan, coordinate, and facilitate engaging activities and events tailored to residents' interests and abilities, including social gatherings, games, arts and crafts, and educational programs. Collaborate with team members to develop comprehensive activity schedules that promote socialization and cognitive engagement. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, ensuring their comfort and participation. Build strong rapport with residents through attentive communication and personalized interaction to enhance their overall experience. Manage activity supplies and materials efficiently, maintaining organization and readiness for scheduled events. Support residents in participating in community outings or recreational trips that promote community involvement. Document resident participation and feedback to continually improve program offerings and ensure resident satisfaction. Foster an inclusive environment by working with individuals with disabilities or memory care needs, including those with Alzheimer's disease or dementia. Experience Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or senior care environments is highly desirable. Proven background in event planning, recreational therapy, or program development within long-term care or geriatric settings. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and memory support strategies is essential for effective resident engagement. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite for scheduling, documentation, and communication purposes. Experience working directly with seniors and individuals with disabilities to promote independence and well-being. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members. Demonstrated ability to lead activities or coordinate resident events while fostering teamwork within a senior living setting.
