Kitchen Manager Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-2:30PM Compensation:
$19.00 per hour, when school is in session Position Overview We are seeking a reliable, organized, and hands-on Kitchen Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our school kitchen. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for maintaining an organized and well-stocked kitchen, coordinating with vendors, receiving and organizing deliveries, overseeing the entire meal service, and ensuring that the kitchen and food service areas are prepared and operating smoothly each day. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable working in a fast-paced school environment, and enjoys working with students, parents, faculty, staff, and vendors. Key Responsibilities- Manage the daily operations and organization of the school kitchen (breakfast and lunch;
NON-COOKING KITCHEN
).- Monitor inventory levels and ensure that items from the caterer: food, beverages, supplies, and other necessary items are adequately stocked.
- Place and coordinate orders with food and supply vendors as needed.
- Receive, inspect, organize and report on deliveries, ensuring that items are properly stored.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and functional kitchen and storage areas.
- Assist with the preparation and setup of meals, snacks, events, and special programs.
- Serve meals and assist with food distribution to students and staff.
- Work closely and professionally with vendors, delivery personnel, parents, faculty, and staff.
- Assist parents and families with kitchen-related questions or needs.
- Coordinate kitchen setups for meetings, programs, school events, and special occasions.
- Monitor supplies and communicate purchasing needs in a timely manner.
- Ensure that food service areas are properly prepared before and cleaned and organized after service.
- Follow all school policies and applicable food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Perform other kitchen and operational duties as assigned. Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen, food service, hospitality, or similar operational environment preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Comfortable lifting and moving food, supplies, and deliveries as needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with students, parents, staff, and vendors.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy school environment.
