Shift Supervisor

Job Description

Important Employment Notice:
These positions are being recruited in support of a short-term food service requirement. Employment is anticipated for the applicable contract period in September-November 2026. Continued employment beyond the requirement is not guaranteed and is dependent upon operational requirements, funding, contract direction, and any authorized extension.
Schedule:
Shift dependent. Morning shifts may begin at 3:30 a.m.; evening shifts generally run 11:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Each shift consists of eight working hours plus a one-hour meal break, subject to operational requirements. Position Summary Provides day-to-day leadership for food service operations supporting U.S. military personnel and authorized patrons. Primary Duties Supervise assigned cooks, servers, dishwashers, janitorial, warehouse, cashier/headcount, and other personnel. Coordinate shift activities, meal preparation/service, staffing coverage, sanitation, and closeout activities. Ensure personnel comply with food safety, sanitation, safety, security, and site requirements. Monitor attendance and performance and promptly elevate staffing, safety, or operational concerns. Support required documentation, inspections, training, and operational reporting. Qualifications Previous supervisory experience in food service, institutional dining, military DFAC, restaurant, or similar environment preferred. Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to work assigned early-morning or evening schedules. Current food-service certifications when required; ServSafe Manager certification is highly desirable. General Conditions of Employment Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States. Must satisfy applicable pre-employment screening, background, medical, training, and installation-access requirements. Must comply with site safety, security, food-safety, sanitation, identification/badging, uniform, and PPE requirements. Must be available to work the assigned schedule for the duration of this short-term requirement. Employment duration, staffing levels, work location, and schedules may change based on contract and operational requirements.
