Role:
The Food Runner plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless dining experience by efficiently delivering food orders from the kitchen to guests in a timely and professional manner. This position requires close coordination with kitchen staff and servers to maintain the flow of service and uphold high standards of food presentation and safety. The Food Runner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining and service areas while adhering to all safety and hygiene protocols. This role demands physical stamina and mobility to navigate the dining area, often carrying heavy trays and standing for extended periods. Ultimately, the Food Runner contributes significantly to guest satisfaction by supporting the restaurant team and enhancing the overall dining atmosphere.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant schedule. Physical capability to lift and carry heavy weights safely throughout the shift. Full range of mobility including standing for long periods, reaching overhead, and performing repetitive motions. Basic understanding of safety procedures and hygiene standards in a food service environment. Previous experience in a food service or hospitality role is preferred but not mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with room service delivery in a hotel or similar setting. Familiarity with food handling and safety certifications. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and guests. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated reliability and punctuality in previous employment.
Responsibilities:
Deliver food orders promptly and accurately from the kitchen to guests' tables or room service locations. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to ensure order accuracy and timely service. Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas, including clearing empty dishes and resetting tables as needed. Adhere strictly to safety procedures and hygiene standards to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff. Assist with lifting and carrying heavy trays or items while maintaining proper ergonomic techniques to prevent injury.

The required skills such as working nights, weekends, and holidays ensure the Food Runner is available during peak service times, supporting continuous operations. Physical skills like lifting heavy weights, full mobility, reaching overhead, and standing for long periods are essential for safely and efficiently transporting food and supplies throughout the shift. Adherence to safety procedures protects both the employee and guests, maintaining a secure work environment. Fingering throughout the shift and repetitive motions are part of handling trays and plates, requiring dexterity and endurance.
