Job Description
Bellingham Golf & Country Club (BGCC) is seeking polished, attentive, and service-driven Banquet Waitstaff to support weddings, golf tournaments, member events, business functions, and private celebrations. Banquet Waitstaff play a key role in creating exceptional event experiences through efficient service, strong teamwork, and a welcoming, professional presence. Key Responsibilities Provide friendly, professional service to members and guests during banquets, tournaments, and special events. Assist with event setup, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and buffet or service stations according to event layouts. Serve plated meals, clear dishes, refresh beverages, and maintain smooth service flow throughout events. Support buffet service, including monitoring food levels, maintaining presentation, and assisting guests. Collaborate with banquet captains, bartenders, kitchen staff, and event coordinators to ensure seamless execution. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in all banquet areas before, during, and after service. Assist with event breakdown, including clearing service items, resetting rooms, and storing equipment. Uphold BGCC's service standards, dress code, and hospitality values at all times. Communicate effectively to ensure events run according to the timeline and meet member/client expectations. Qualifications Previous banquet, catering, or restaurant experience preferred. Washington State Food Handler's Permit required (or ability to obtain). MAST Permit preferred for those assisting with beverage service. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-based schedules. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25-40 lbs (chairs, trays, banquet equipment). Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with BGCC standards.
