Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day human resources operations, ensuring policies, documentation, and employee records are maintained accurately and consistently.
- Serve as a primary resource for employee relations matters by investigating concerns, recommending resolutions, and supporting fair workplace practices.
- Administer benefit programs and assist employees with enrollment, eligibility questions, and issue resolution related to coverage and claims.
- Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires, helping create a smooth transition into the organization and ensuring completion of required employment processes.
- Maintain and update HRIS data, generate reports, and support system-related HR processes to improve accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Partner with leadership and stakeholders on union-related topics, including contract interpretation, grievance handling, and workforce communication.
- Support the resolution of union and medical grievances by gathering information, documenting findings, and following established procedures.
- Assist with organizational changes by advising on people impacts, communication needs, and change management considerations across teams.
- Contribute to HR administrative projects and process improvements, including responsibilities tied to internal system or workflow changes when needed. Requirements
- At least 5 years of human resources experience, including responsibility for employee relations and HR administration.
- Demonstrated knowledge of benefits administration, onboarding practices, and core HR operational processes.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms and using HR data to support reporting and process management.
- Background handling union contract matters, labor relations issues, and grievance processes in a detail-oriented environment.
- Ability to manage sensitive employee and medical-related concerns with discretion, accuracy, and sound judgment.
- Strong understanding of organizational change and the ability to support change management initiatives affecting employees and leaders.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills with a high level of consistency and care.
- Ability to work effectively in a contract position while adapting quickly to organizational priorities and stakeholder needs.
