Be part of our talent pool and grow with H2O.Based at our Ramsey, MN, facility, the Human Resources (HR) Advisor serves as the HR representative for our H2O Innovation USA entity, overseeing HR activities across the U.S. Reporting to the HR Director in Qubec City, Canada, this role ensures effective HR services delivery while driving alignment with corporate practices, policies, and culture. The HR Advisor partners closely with leaders and employees primarily located in Minnesota and California, as well as remote team members across multiple states, to provide consistent, high-quality employee experience and support organizational objectives.
The day-to-day:
Serve as the primary and autonomous HR point of contact for H2O Innovation USA, based in Ramsey and supporting employees across multiple U.S. locations;Manage day-to-day HR operations and employee relations;Support and guide managers through a wide range of employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, workplace investigations, and terminations;Manage employee lifecycle processes end-to-end, including onboarding, offboarding, internal mobility, and leave administration;Provide timely support to employees by addressing inquiries related to policies, working conditions, and HR programs;Ensure consistent application of company policies, procedures, and HR standards while maintaining compliance with U.S. federal and state employment laws;Partner with managers on workforce planning, team development, and organizational effectiveness;Coordinate and execute the deployment of HR programs and initiatives across U.S. locations;Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers to support recruitment activities as needed;Partner with payroll and benefits providers to ensure accuracy and compliance in employee data, compensation changes, and benefits administration;Support the administration and renewal of group insurance and benefits programs in the U.S;Identify process gaps and implement practical improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance;Contribute to the achievement of HR and organizational objectives (OKRs) and actively promote H2Os values and culture across locations.
Skills we are looking forBachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience);Minimum 3 years of HR experience, with exposure to employee relations and day-to-day HR operations;Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws and HR practices;Experience supporting employee lifecycle processes (onboarding, leave management, terminations);Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment;Comfortable working independently while staying aligned with a remote manager and team;Good communication and interpersonal skills to support managers and employees;Proficiency with HRIS, ATS, and Microsoft Office tools (or similar platforms);Professional HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR (asset).
