Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Services Position Summary We are seeking a proactive, organized, and people-focused HR Generalist to serve as the sole Human Resources professional for our growing ABA company. This role is responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, building HR systems and processes, and supporting a fast-paced healthcare environment while ensuring compliance with California labor laws and industry standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Recruitment & Hiring Manage full-cycle recruitment for clinical and administrative positions, including Behavior Technicians (BTs/RBTs), BCBAs, and support staff Create and post job advertisements across multiple platforms Screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates Coordinate and conduct interviews Perform reference checks and background screening coordination Prepare and extend employment offers Maintain recruitment metrics and staffing reports Onboarding & Orientation Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation Ensure completion of all required employment documentation Manage I-9 verification and personnel files Coordinate training assignments, certifications, and onboarding schedules Partner with operations and clinical leadership to support smooth employee integration Performance Management Manage employee evaluation processes, including: 90-day introductory evaluations Annual performance reviews Performance improvement plans (PIPs) when needed Track evaluation timelines and ensure completion by supervisors Support managers with coaching and employee development strategies Employee Relations & Engagement Serve as the primary HR contact for employee questions and concerns Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture Develop employee engagement initiatives and retention strategies Support conflict resolution and employee relations matters Coordinate employee recognition programs and company events Compliance & HR Administration Ensure compliance with California labor laws and employment regulations Maintain employee records and HR documentation in accordance with legal requirements Monitor wage and hour compliance, meal/rest break policies, leave laws, and required postings Administer and track leaves of absence, including CFRA, FMLA, and other protected leaves Support workplace safety and workers' compensation processes Maintain HR policies, employee handbook updates, and standard operating procedures Assist with audits, reporting, and compliance documentation Benefits & HR Operations Assist employees with benefits enrollment and questions Coordinate open enrollment processes Maintain HRIS and employee data accuracy Partner with payroll and leadership teams to ensure accurate employee information and status changes Support organizational growth through scalable HR processes and systems Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred Minimum 3-5 years of HR experience required Experience as a standalone HR professional strongly preferred Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or ABA services preferred Strong knowledge of California labor laws and HR best practices Experience with recruiting high-volume clinical or healthcare staff preferred Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally Preferred Certifications PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent HR certification preferred Key Competencies Self-directed and highly organized Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Detail-oriented with strong follow-through Professional judgment and discretion Collaborative and service-oriented mindset Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Beacon Behavior Consultants is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to creating an inclusive workplace for all employees.
