Monday-Friday, 11:30 AM-7:30 PM Turn Your Experience With Dogs Into a Career Train Walk Poop is looking for a dependable, hardworking Kennel Technician / Dog Daycare Attendant to join our team in Salt Lake City. This is a hands-on animal care and dog daycare position for someone who enjoys working with dogs and wants to develop professional skills in dog handling, dog behavior, socialization, and training. You do not need to already be a professional dog trainer. We provide training and hands-on coaching to help the right person develop their skills and grow into higher-responsibility roles. This is not a job where you simply watch dogs play. You will actively participate in their daily care, safely manage group interactions, maintain a clean facility, and learn how to help dogs become safer, calmer, more confident, and better able to navigate the world around them. Previous experience working with dogs or animals is strongly preferred.

Dog Care, Handling & Socialization - Approximately 60% Safely handle dogs of different sizes, ages, breeds, and temperaments Supervise and participate in structured dog daycare groups Monitor dog behavior and interactions Help maintain safe and appropriate social interactions Assist with enrichment, exercise, and structured activities Learn basic dog training and behavior skills Follow established dog-handling and safety procedures Communicate observations about individual dogs to other team members Assist with dogs participating in daycare, boarding, and training programs Kennel Cleaning & Facility Care - Approximately 20% Keeping a clean and safe environment is a major part of excellent animal care. Clean kennels, daycare areas, play areas, and other animal-care spaces Pick up and dispose of waste Wash bowls and other equipment Complete laundry Restock supplies Maintain organized work areas Follow sanitation and cleaning procedures Help keep the facility safe, clean, and professional This position involves regular cleaning and physical work. Applicants should be comfortable with these responsibilities. Daily Animal Care & Operations - Approximately 20% Prepare and provide meals according to individual instructions Assist with medication administration according to established procedures Prepare dog areas for the day Monitor water and general care needs Support dog check-ins and check-outs Organize supplies and equipment Assist with boarding care Complete daily operational tasks Help the team keep the facility running smoothly Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Dependable and consistently on time Hardworking and willing to stay active throughout the workday Comfortable working around dogs of different sizes, breeds, ages, and temperaments Comfortable handling multiple dogs safely Willing to clean, do laundry, and perform physical work Able to follow detailed safety and care procedures Patient and observant Comfortable receiving coaching and feedback Interested in learning professional dog training and behavior Able to work well as part of a team Looking for an opportunity to grow rather than just a temporary job This May Be a Great Fit If You... Team members may be eligible for advancement approximately every 3-6 months as they develop the skills required for the next level. Training & Onboarding All new team members begin with a two-week onboarding and probationary period. During this period, you will: Learn our dog-handling and safety systems Learn proper animal-care procedures Assist with dog daycare and boarding care Learn cleaning and sanitation procedures Complete self-paced training modules Receive hands-on coaching and feedback Learn foundational dog behavior and training skills Demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and attention to detail Successful completion of the probationary period is required before permanent employment is offered. Schedule Monday-Friday, 11:30 AM-7:30 PM We care for dogs 365 days a year , including weekends and holidays. Holiday shifts may occasionally be required and are rotated fairly among team members. Applicants must be able to reliably work the schedule listed above.
