Job Description

Key Responsibilities Learn about the services we provide and the species we treat Develop familiarity with common breeds, coat colors, and animal behavior Assist doctors and team members with patient care, including safe and compassionate animal handling and restraint Monitor animals closely for signs of stress, illness, or injury and report concerns promptly Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kennel and hospital environment Perform essential daily care tasks such as bathing animals, cleaning cages, and managing pet waste Support overall hospital cleanliness through housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, floors, walls, windows, and general upkeep) Help ensure a safe environment by maintaining secure entrances and exits Follow safety protocols, including OSHA standards and proper use of cleaning materials Learn and use basic medical terminology and common veterinary abbreviations Maintain accurate patient and client records while respecting confidentiality Respond appropriately in emergency situations involving pets or the facility Work professionally and calmly in a fast-paced, sometimes high-stress environment Stay open to learning and contributing to a collaborative team culture What to expect in this role: This position involves consistent physical activity and hands-on work.
Candidates should be comfortable with:
Standing and moving for extended periods throughout the shift Lifting and handling pets or supplies up to 50 lbs. without assistance Performing repetitive cleaning and sanitation tasks Working in an environment that may include noise, odors, and exposure to animal waste This role is perfect for someone who enjoys staying active, doesn't mind getting their hands dirty, and finds fulfillment in providing essential care behind the scenes.
