Job Description

Job Summary Part time veterinary assistant needed for mobile equine veterinarian based in Saratoga Springs, NY. Duties Assist with horse handling and restraint to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and procedures. Safely drive large SUV long distances. Unpack and pack up vehicle before, during, and after appointments. Organize and manage equipment and supply inventory. Maintain cleanliness of work vehicle, garage, and equipment. Assist with processing lab work. Assist with surgical preparation, scrubbing joints, taking vitals, sheath cleaning, bandage changing, and dispensing medications. Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, medication schedules, and follow-up needs. Assist with shipping and handling of packages. Requirements Excellent horse handling and client communication skills. Ability and willingness to jog horses for extended periods of time for lameness evaluations. Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs Flexible schedule to accommodate variable start and stop times. Ability to work in all weather conditions. Valid driver's license with clean driving history and background check. Willingness to participate in random drug testing.
