Orchard Hills Animal Hospital is now hiring for a assistant/ technician. We are looking for smiling, compassionate and committed assistant/technician for our busy small animal hospital.

Basic job description:

Patient Liaison:

Includes documenting all conversations, patient procedures, patient observations, and any other notes in medical records; calling clients to update patient condition, communicating drop off and pick up times, assisting veterinarian with client phone calls and questions. Surgical prep - Clean and prep patients for surgery, including administration of pre-surgical meds, placement of IV catheter, intubation. Log all medications in medical record. Patient TPR - Check in patients in exam room and take patient history. Enter TPR and history and concerns in patient medical record. Assist in Surgery and monitoring hospitalized patients - Assist veterinarians in surgery including monitoring and logging pertinent levels in medical chart. Administer medications-This includes giving of oral/topical medications as well as vaccines, when directed by veterinarian. Cleaning and maintenance of hospital - typical cleaning and maintenance in hospital.

Experience:

About you:•Assistants/Technicians are expected to be competent with obtaining history, in house lab, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, surgical prep/assistance, radiography,restraint, etc. Applicants with previous dental experience (digital x-rays, scaling/polishing, charting, etc) strongly desired.
