Job Description

Madison Animal Hospital is looking for a full-time experienced Veterinary Technician. A minimum of three years of professional experience working in a veterinary hospital/clinic is required. If you do not have at least three years of experience working in a veterinary hospital/clinic, unfortunately you will not be considered for this position. Duties include, but are not limited to: Ensure the safety and comfort of all pets in the hospital under direction of the doctor. Possess knowledge of veterinary procedures, surgeries, vaccines, treatments, diagnostic testing, medications, heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Able to place IV catheter and perform blood draws. Comfortable using radiology and other diagnostic equipment. Able to communicate with clients with professionalism and compassion, provide client updates and answer questions. Assisting in maintaining a clean and safe environment for all staff, visitors and animals.
Requirements:
Must be physically able to restrain, lift and handle all sizes of animals that are seen. Must be available Monday through Friday, between 7:30 am - 6:00 pm with rotating weekends, and occasional availability outside of regular hours Must be able to work closely with staff and doctors, as well as provide guidance and instructions to clients. Able to remain focused and professional in a fast paced environment, and in stressful situations. Must provide a high standard of care and be able to follow through with all assigned tasks. Computer skills with attention to detail and accuracy. At least 2 years of continued employment of your last two jobs. We offer very competitive pay and an employee discount. Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
