Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and monitoring patient status Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence, ensuring safety for both animals and staff Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and interpret basic results to aid in diagnosis Maintain accurate medical records, including patient histories, treatment plans, and vaccination logs Administer treatments such as medication administration, wound care, and animal catheterization under supervision Support pet care activities including grooming, feeding, and pet grooming to promote comfort and hygiene Take diagnostic radiographs (X-ray) ensuring proper positioning and aseptic technique for clear imaging results Requirements Valid license as a Veterinary Technician (LVT) or equivalent certification in veterinary technology Proven kennel experience with animals of various species, including dogs and cats Strong knowledge of dental terminology and procedures for dental cleanings and exams Experience with animal husbandry practices across different species including equine experience preferred Familiarity with veterinary critical care procedures such as emergency response and intensive patient monitoring Laboratory experience involving sample collection, analysis, and interpretation of results Ability to handle dogs confidently through training techniques or dog handling skills Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary technician protocols Skilled in animal restraint techniques for safe examinations or treatments Experience with pet care routines such as grooming and pet grooming techniques Proficiency in X-ray operation with attention to aseptic technique during imaging procedures Join us to make a real difference in the lives of animals while advancing your veterinary career!
