Job Description
Job Summary We are currently looking for an experienced Part-Time (20-29 hours) veterinary technician who has at least 2-4 years of experience working in a veterinary hospital as a technician. Applicants must have good communication skills and be reliable, self-starting and able to perform the daily duties of a Veterinary Technician. These duties include the ability to place catheters, draw blood, monitor anesthesia, perform dental cleanings, fill prescriptions, and take quality radiographs. We are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. We are also closed on major holidays. Lehi Animal Hospital is a family owned, private practice. We are growing with a lot of opportunities to learn new skills. A minimum of 2-4 years of experience is Required. Compensation will be based on skill level and years of experience. Duties Checking patients in, getting vitals Putting invoices together Filling Prescriptions Calculating medications to go home as well as, anesthesia medications Giving medications (PO, IM, IV, SQ) Preparing patients for surgery Anesthesia Monitoring Recovering patients from surgery Discharging surgeries Preparing vaccines and administering vaccines Doing blood draws and prepare samples for lab submission or in house diagnostics Taking radiographs Performing dental cleanings- scaling and polishing, and dental radiographs Understanding and helping with proper animal restraint Assisting the doctor, and other team members Keeping the hospital clean and tidy Experience •2-4 years of experience as a veterinary technician (Required) Positive attitude Experience working in a Veterinary hospital High school diploma or equivalent Computer literate Able to perform well under pressure Punctual/reliable Flexible with hours Self-motivated/self-starter Excellent Customer service/ Professional Strong work ethic Works well with others/good team player Resourceful, time efficient, able to multi-task Must be able to lift at least 50lbs •Addition information: Competitive pay based on experience.
