Job Description

Summary The Consumer Documentation Specialist I is responsible for obtaining, reviewing, and producing required loan documents on all consumer non-real estate loan transactions. This position assures all documentation is in accordance with loan approvals, loan policies and applicable laws and regulations. Specific Job Functions Produces standard loan and collateral documents for all types of consumer loans which comply with bank policies and all federal and state laws. Reviews application documents for accuracy and completeness. This includes, but is not limited to loan applications, credit reports and verification of income. Reviews existing loan and collateral documentation to ensure existing errors or deficiencies are resolved. Obtains and reviews all supporting documentation for loans prior to closing, including but not limited to: Credit approval and adherence to loan policies; Financial reporting requirements and adherence to loan policies; Searches to ensure the bank is in a valid lien position; Validates applicable flood determination and insurance to ensure compliance with federal regulations; Verifies all other types of applicable insurance (i.e., hazard, automobile, boat, motor, & trailer), to ensure bank's collateral is protected. Assists with obtaining, reviewing and producing supporting documents that are required for subdivision development and contractor speculative construction line of credit advances. This will include, but not limited to the following: Flood determination; Reviews of the completed appraisal to verify the loan value requirements; Reviews the HUD/Settlement Statement provided by the closing agent for accuracy; Prepares and produces required loan and security documents. Minimum Job Requirements High School diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree is preferred. 0 - 2 years of consumer loan documentation experience. Demonstrates good understanding of loan documentation processes. Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with co-workers and clients. Must be organized, attentive to detail, and self-disciplined to work independently. Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Suite. Maintain a professional demeanor and dependable work ethic.
