Road Patrol Sergeant Henry County Sheriff's Office - Clinton, Missouri The Henry County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for the position of Road Patrol Sergeant . We are seeking an experienced, motivated law enforcement professional who is ready to lead from the front. This position serves as a working patrol supervisor , providing daily leadership, guidance, accountability, and support to deputies while remaining actively involved in calls for service, criminal investigations, traffic enforcement, arrests, and other patrol operations. Position Responsibilities The Road Patrol Sergeant will: Provide direct supervision and leadership to assigned patrol deputies Respond to and supervise significant or complex incidents Review reports and investigations for accuracy, completeness, and quality Ensure appropriate investigative follow-up is completed Coach, mentor, train, and develop deputies Address performance concerns and recognize exceptional work Assist with scheduling, staffing, and daily patrol operations Promote proactive policing and community engagement Coordinate with investigators, command staff, prosecutors, and partner agencies Ensure policies, procedures, and professional standards are followed Lead by example through active participation in patrol operations What We Are Looking For We are looking for more than someone who can supervise a shift. The successful candidate should be a leader who communicates well, makes sound decisions, accepts responsibility, develops others, and understands that accountability and taking care of employees go hand-in-hand. Applicants should possess strong report-writing and investigative skills and demonstrate the ability to review the work of others while providing constructive guidance when improvement is needed. Prior supervisory experience is preferred; however, experienced law enforcement officers who have demonstrated leadership ability and are ready to take the next step in their career are encouraged to apply.
