Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Family Law Attorney (or Civil Litigation Lawyer) to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will provide expert legal counsel and representation in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, adoption, and related issues. Your energetic approach will help clients navigate complex legal processes with confidence and clarity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in family law along with a comprehensive understanding of various legal disciplines, ensuring well-rounded advocacy for clients facing sensitive life transitions. Responsibilities Represent clients in family law cases, including divorce proceedings, child custody disputes, spousal support negotiations, and adoption processes Conduct thorough legal research utilizing tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to stay current on statutory laws and procedural updates Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and court depositions Prepare for trial by organizing evidence, developing case strategies, and participating in trial preparation activities Negotiate settlements that align with clients' best interests while maintaining professional advocacy during mediations and negotiations Manage case files efficiently using legal case management software to ensure timely updates and compliance with court deadlines Communicate effectively with clients to explain legal options, progress updates, and procedural requirements throughout their cases Skills Knowledge of family law procedures combined with familiarity in related areas such as estate planning, employment law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, workers' compensation law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, personal injury law, environmental law, and general & commercial litigation Proven negotiation skills to facilitate favorable settlements for clients Strong research capabilities using LexisNexis and Westlaw for statutory legal research and case law analysis Exceptional legal writing skills for drafting pleadings, motions, contracts, and other legal documents Experience in court depositions and trial preparation to advocate effectively in litigation settings Ability to handle multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and procedural accuracy Excellent client communication skills to foster trust and clarity during often sensitive legal proceedings Join us if you're eager to champion clients through challenging family matters with energy and professionalism.
