Job Description

We are looking for an Employment Staff Attorney to provide high-quality legal representation and advocacy for low-income workers in San Rafael, California.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct intake meetings, assess facts, analyze legal issues, and perform thorough research to support case strategy and advice.
  • Lead community presentations and participate in outreach activities that increase awareness of workplace rights and available legal resources.
  • Negotiate with employers and opposing counsel to pursue favorable resolutions through settlement when appropriate.
  • Advocate for clients in administrative proceedings and court matters, including support for broader litigation efforts aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Provide direction, mentoring, and training to legal support staff, interns, and volunteers as needed.
  • Partner with internal staff to maintain strong service delivery, track case progress, and uphold high standards of representation.
  • Maintain accurate case files, time records, and outcome data to support compliance, reporting, fundraising, and program evaluation.
