Baker Law Group About the Opportunity Baker Law Group is seeking an experienced Nevada Of Counsel Attorney to support our growing Nevada practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil litigation, probate, or both and will be available to handle referred matters and attend Nevada court proceedings when necessary. This is a flexible, nonemployee opportunity for an attorney who may have an existing solo practice, small-firm affiliation, or other professional commitments and is interested in receiving additional work from Baker Law Group. Local presence is important. Although Baker Law Group has attorneys licensed in Nevada, we are seeking someone who can provide dependable in-state coverage, manage assigned matters, and appear personally when a Nevada court requires or benefits from local attendance. What You'll Do Responsibilities may include: Handle Nevada civil litigation and probate matters referred by Baker Law Group Evaluate potential matters and provide recommendations regarding strategy, scope, and case value Manage assigned cases from initial assessment through resolution Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and settlement documents Conduct and defend depositions Represent clients at hearings, conferences, mediations, and trials Provide local court coverage for routine and substantive proceedings Handle probate administration and estate-related court matters Assist with guardianship and other protective proceedings Support contested probate and fiduciary disputes Advise clients regarding Nevada procedures, deadlines, risks, and potential outcomes Maintain regular client communication regarding the status and cost of their matters Coordinate with Baker Law Group attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff Enter time promptly and comply with the firm's billing and client-management procedures Help monitor client retainers and account status Types of Matters The attorney may assist with matters involving: General civil litigation Business and contract disputes Real estate and property litigation Construction-related disputes Partnership or ownership conflicts Pre-litigation demands and negotiations Probate administration Contested probate Will and trust disputes Fiduciary litigation Guardianship proceedings Estate-related property or business issues Other Nevada matters within the attorney's experience Candidates do not need to practice in every listed area. We are looking for a capable, versatile attorney who can provide reliable Nevada representation and communicate openly about which matters fall within their experience. What We're Looking For Strong candidates will have: Active Nevada bar admission in good standing Meaningful civil litigation and/or probate experience Familiarity with Nevada state court procedures The ability to attend in-person proceedings in Nevada when needed Experience independently managing matters and deadlines Strong legal drafting, research, negotiation, and advocacy skills Courtroom, deposition, hearing, or mediation experience Practical judgment and the ability to assess unfamiliar matters Strong client-service and communication skills Comfort discussing litigation strategy, fees, and case value with clients Responsiveness to clients and internal firm contacts The ability to work collaboratively within an of counsel structure A professional, dependable, and low-ego working style Work and Compensation Structure This is an of counsel relationship, not a guaranteed-hours or traditional employee position. The volume of work will depend on firm needs, client demand, and the attorney's availability. Compensation is based on an hourly rate. Baker Law Group provides marketing, client-intake, administrative, billing, and operational support. The attorney will be expected to: Enter time accurately and promptly Review invoices and client account status through the firm's systems Communicate with clients when retainers need to be replenished Pause work when required if a client's account is not current Follow Baker Law Group's client-service, billing, and matter-management expectations Maintain close communication with the supervising attorney or practice-group leader Why Partner with Baker Law Group?
