Full Job Description Description:
Kingstonville, LLC is a management consultancy, with core competencies in Administrative Services and Marketing Communications in support of mission driven programs. Our turnkey approach and entrepreneurial spirit help to provide our clients with creative and scalable solutions to meet their objectives. We are a certified participant in the U.S. Small Business Administration's 8(a) Business Development Program and a certified woman-owned small business. Kingstonville is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our team. This is candidate will be responsible for prosecuting violations of federal law in Connecticut and provide a variety of direct legal support assistance services to support our client.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Examines, prepares and processes a variety of legal documents. Provides assistance to attorneys in trial preparation. Receives visitors and telephone callers. Receives, copies and delivers a variety of legal documents to U.S. District Court, New Haven, CT. Establishes and maintains a variety of files. Obligates funds for litigation expenses and monitors for continued necessity. Reviews bills and invoices and submits to budget office for payment. Maintains calendar of assigned active cases. Produces a variety of written documents and materials utilizing a wide range of office software applications. Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Prior experience in the legal field is a plus, but not required. Successful applicants will possess a strong interest in the law and public service. Excellent customer service and time management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of software, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. A Bachelors' Degree is a plus, but not a requirement. Must be able to work 40 hours per week, excluding Federal Holidays. Must be able to pass a federal background investigation. US Citizenship is required.
