Job Description

Elder Abuse Litigation ParalegalWest Hollywood, CA or Irvine, CA Offices| On-Site, Hybrid, or Remote for Exceptional CandidatesA growing California litigation practice is seeking an experienced Elder Abuse Litigation Paralegal to join a collaborative team handling complex elder abuse, neglect, wrongful death, medical negligence, and catastrophic injury matters. This position offers the opportunity to work on meaningful, high-impact cases while supporting attorneys through every stage of litigation.

The position is based in West Hollywood with flexibility for hybrid schedules and potential remote arrangements for exceptional candidates with highly relevant experience.

ResponsibilitiesSupport attorneys through all phases of litigation from intake through trial and resolution.

Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, correspondence, and other case-related documents.

Review, organize, and summarize medical records, facility records, deposition transcripts, and discovery responses.

Coordinate depositions, expert witnesses, mediations, and court appearances.

Prepare exhibit binders, trial notebooks, mediation materials, and settlement documents.

Manage litigation calendars and track discovery, court, and trial deadlines.

Communicate with clients, healthcare providers, experts, vendors, and opposing counsel.

Assist with trial preparation, including witness coordination and exhibit management.

Support settlement administration, lien resolution, and file closing activities.

Work closely with attorneys and litigation staff to help develop and execute case strategies.

QualificationsMinimum of 3 years of litigation paralegal experience.

Experience supporting elder abuse, medical malpractice, wrongful death, nursing home neglect, or plaintiff personal injury litigation is preferred.

Strong knowledge of California civil litigation procedures and court rules.

Experience with discovery, calendaring, electronic filing, and trial preparation.

Ability to review and summarize large volumes of medical and litigation records.

Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and support staff.

Preferred QualificationsPlaintiff-side litigation experience.

Paralegal certificate, Associate degree, Bachelor degree, JD, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Experience with modern legal case management and litigation support software.
