  • $68,500 / year.

Position Summary & Responsibilities :
Public Sector Supervisor The Industrial Safety and Health division is recruiting for a Public Sector Supervisor to provide leadership, direction, and administrative oversight for the Public Sector Safety Program. The position is responsible for supervising 5 professional safety specialists. The position will be coordinating program activities, developing and maintaining effective workplace safety initiatives, and ensuring the program provides high-quality safety and health services to public sector employers and employees. Focuses on program leadership, staff development, consultation services, training, outreach, technical assistance, program evaluation, and coordination with internal and external partners. Address performance issues and recognize employee accomplishments in accordance with State of Kansas policies. This position will develop and implement outreach strategies to increase awareness and utilization of Public Sector Safety Program services. Establish and maintain relationships with cities, counties, school districts, state agencies, universities, professional organizations, and other public sector stakeholders. Represent the program at conferences, meetings, professional associations, and community events. Identify underserved public sector organizations and develop strategies to increase program participation. Prepare reports, summaries, presentations, and other program documentation for agency leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
Four (4) years experience in a Occupational Safety or Health position; specifically in employee safety, accident prevention, industrial hygiene or related field Two (2) years of directly supervising staff members Knowledge of OSHA and general consensus standards Valid Kansas driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or Health, or related field. Association Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Five (5) years experience in a Occupational Safety or Health position
