Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Coordinator - Part-Time Paige Floor Covering Specialists (Paige FC) is seeking a qualified Part-Time Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Coordinator to support our marine and ship-repair operations in the San Diego area. The EH&S Coordinator will be responsible for supporting and enforcing Paige FC's safety program across active shipyard and vessel work sites. This position will work closely with field supervision and management to ensure employees are working safely and in accordance with company, customer, shipyard, OSHA, and applicable NAVSEA requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and uphold company safety requirements at active shipyard and vessel work sites. Conduct routine field safety inspections and immediately address unsafe conditions or work practices. Prepare and submit VOCs and other required safety documentation . Obtain, track, renew, and close out required permits for ongoing work. Conduct and document weekly safety meetings/toolbox talks . Coordinate and document employee safety training and maintain current training records. Report, document, and assist with the investigation of workplace injuries, incidents, near misses, and property damage . Maintain required OSHA logs, safety records, inspection reports, and supporting documentation. Verify employees have required PPE and are following established safety procedures. Support requirements involving hot work, confined spaces, fall protection, respiratory protection, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, fire prevention, and housekeeping , as applicable to Paige FC's work. Review upcoming work with Production to identify potential hazards and required permits or controls before work begins. Participate in customer/shipyard safety meetings and communicate safety requirements to field personnel. Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensure chemical/coating products are properly handled, labeled, and stored. Assist management in maintaining compliance with applicable OSHA, NAVSEA, customer, and shipyard safety requirements . Stop or correct unsafe work when an immediate safety concern is identified.

Qualifications:

Previous shipyard, marine, industrial, or construction safety experience preferred . Knowledge of OSHA and general shipyard safety requirements. Familiarity with Navy/ship-repair operations and NAVSEA requirements is strongly preferred. OSHA 10/30, Competent Person, First Aid/CPR, or other applicable safety certifications preferred. Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with field employees, supervisors, customers, and management.
