Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Specialist to join our organization. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and oversee health, safety, and environmental policies aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), and other relevant regulatory standards. Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify hazards related to hazardous materials regulations, workplace safety, and environmental compliance. Lead incident investigations using root cause analysis techniques to determine underlying issues and recommend corrective actions. Coordinate safety training programs including CPR, first aid, hazard communication, and emergency response procedures to enhance employee awareness and preparedness. Maintain accurate documentation of safety incidents, inspection reports, training records, and compliance audits through detailed report writing. Ensure adherence to environmental management systems by monitoring emissions, waste disposal practices, and regulatory/legal compliance standards in production. Manage workers' compensation claims process in collaboration with legal teams to ensure proper reporting and resolution. Stay current with evolving environmental health regulations and occupational health expertise to proactively update policies and procedures. Promote a culture of continuous safety improvement through employee engagement initiatives and regular communication on safety best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety considerations into operational processes while supporting regulatory compliance. Requirements Proven experience in manufacturing environments or industrial settings with a strong understanding of workplace safety protocols. Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and environmental regulatory compliance. Certification in first aid (including CPR), OSHA safety training, or related fields is highly desirable. Familiarity with environmental management systems such as ISO 14001 or equivalent frameworks. Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis and develop effective corrective action plans. Strong report writing skills with attention to detail for incident documentation and compliance reporting. Knowledge of workers' compensation law processes and occupational health standards. Excellent communication skills capable of engaging diverse audiences across all levels of the organization. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively while managing multiple projects related to employee health (regulatory compliance standards) and environmental health initiatives.
