Plant Manager Current Incumbent:
General Position Summary Employee of EHS specialist will help design and implement the overall safety of the workplace to ensure compliance with OSHA, State and Federal regulations. He/she will set safety standards for their workplace based on legal requirements and train employees to help them understand. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design and implement new health and safety protocols.
  • Train employees in health and safety policies and best practices.
  • Presenting safety training sessions to the company & employees
  • Handing risk assessments to gather information on safety issues
  • Verifying that employees consistently follow safety protocols.
  • Analyzing health and safety data.
  • Reviewing and recommending changes to regular activities
  • Conducting inspections and identifying hazards and EHS violations.
  • Preparing and submitting health and safety compliance documents to the relevant organizations.
  • Keeping up with of the latest EHS trends, policies, regulations, and best practices.
  • Maintain management information systems that identify the location of hazardous sites, chemical inventories, and complaint investigations.
  • Attend to the employees in case of incidents, and provide first aid care or support to the urgent care, including reporting to the Worker's comp insurance.
Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisors. Maintains high ethical standards in the workplace.   • Understanding of OSHA guidelines and other state and local safety regulations
  • The ability to read and interpret safety data sheets.
  • Knowledge of EHS related legislations and procedures
  • Experience in producing reports and writing policies and procedures for health and safety.
  • Strong verbal, written communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking and Computer literacy.
  • Ability to conduct thorough inspections and audits.
  • Ability to become familiar with tools, machines and equipment used in workplace.
  • Ability to teach others the established safety standards.
  • Ability to work well as a team and interact with diverse groups of people.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or more than 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Frequently under very loud conditions and near moving mechanical parts. Temperature conditions can change from cold to extremely hot. Also, the employee must be able to read and analyze data in hard copy and on a computer screen; also requires the ability to measure or identify using eyesight. Travel is required.
