Job Description
Possible shifts are
•
Day Shift:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday 5 am to 5 pm rotate Wednesdays Bi-weekly(36 hours week one 48 hours week two)
•
Day Shift:
Thursday, Friday, Saturday 5 am to 5pm rotate Wednesdays Bi-weekly(36 hours week one 48 hours week two)
•
Night Shift:
Thursday, Friday, Saturday 5 pm to 5 am rotate Wednesdays Bi-weekly(36 hours week one 48 hours week two)
•
Night Shift:
Sunday - Thursday 10pm to 6am
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
Protect company properties, employees, and assets by patrolling buildings and grounds. Provide protective escorts when needed or upon request. Provide traffic control and parking enforcement when necessary. Monitor security camera systems, the access control system and other related alarm/security or fire safety equipment. Respond to safety and security calls. Monitor compliance of safety and security regulations as outlined by OSHA, State and Federal guidelines. Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
Ability to react to emergency situations in a calm professional manner. Ability to work with various types of safety and security electronic equipment, and being comfortable with operating various types of computer software. Ability to read a computer screen, operate a computer terminal, various electronic security equipment, two-way radio system and telephone. Must be able to type a minimum of 30 words per minute. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in written form. Ability to patrol buildings, garages, and surface areas and restrain or chase subjects if necessary. Ability to handle confidential information in a sensitive manner. Ability to work varied shifts and overtime as required. Ability to be flexible and work in a continuously changing environment. Ability to walk, stand, bend or reach 12 hours Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to adhere to stringent safety rules Required Experience One year of security or equivalent experience required, including 6 months as an armed officer. At least 21 years of age required. CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred. High School diploma is required and 2 years of college preferred. Military or Law Enforcement preferred but not required Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic understanding of access control, CCTV, firefighting equipment and first aid equipment required.
