A Security Officer provides security for property at hospitals, hotels, warehouses or office buildings. Monitors entrances and patrols buildings, watches for intruders or vandals; reports building maintenance problems; deals with customers or visitors that create a disturbance in the building.
Security Officers provide protection of work sites, personnel, and assets from events such as trespassing, unauthorized entry, and other disruptive incidents. Performing access control is a core function of this position.
WORK SCHEDULE & PAY
Security Officers work a 12-hour rotational shift schedule consisting of 1 week on / 1 week off (7 days/week). A base pay period (2-weeks) earns 64 regular hours, combined with 20 hours of additional overtime pay . Positions require open availability for days, nights, weekends, or holidays due to a rotating schedule. This position starts at $20.66 per hour, with additional compensation for all overtime hours. Due to the built‑in overtime associated with the rotational schedule, the estimated starting annual base pay is $50,493.00 There are times when employees may be asked to work on days that would ordinarily be their scheduled days off. These additional pay opportunities include scheduled refinery turnaround periods and covering open shifts when needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED Minimum of 18 years of age Valid driver's license Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) or able to obtain State of Washington Security Officer license or able to obtain Ability to speak, write, and comprehend the English language and apply written and verbal policies/procedures. This position requires open availability for days, nights, weekends, or holidays due to a rotating schedule. Reliable access to a smartphone capable of running apps for scheduling, timekeeping (clocking in/out), shift communications, and time-off requests. This position has been designated as safety-sensitive. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug test, criminal background check, and post-offer basic physical.
PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
Minimum of two years working in law enforcement or fire service (paid or volunteer), military police, corrections, or a private security company.

Maintain composure and control when encountering a hostile person or situation Safely operate a motor vehicle during both day and night, in a variety of settings, environments, and varying weather conditions
PAY & BENEFITS
This position starts at $20.66/hour, plus additional for all overtime hours. Due to the built‑in overtime associated with the rotational schedule, the estimated starting annual base pay is $50,943. WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Officers will be working in and around an oil refinery, sitting or standing for extended periods either indoors or in inclement weather, and operating a company vehicle. Applicant will be required to successfully complete a post offer, pre-hire physical.
