POSITION SUMMARY
The Lead Room Attendant assumes a senior operational and supervisory role, combining the essential duties of a House Attendant with team leadership. This position is responsible for providing guidance and support to the Room Attendant team to ensure all guest rooms and common areas meet established cleanliness and brand standards. The Lead Room Attendant also performs key House Attendant functions, including maintaining the cleanliness of the hotel's public areas, assisting guests with luggage and deliveries, and ensuring the pool area is clean and well-maintained. The ideal candidate is an efficient, detail-oriented leader who contributes to an exceptional guest experience by upholding high standards of service and cleanliness.LOCATION
Sag Harbor, NYPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Direct and lead Room Attendants in daily cleaning assignments and task execution, ensuring all guest rooms and common areas consistently meet established cleanliness and brand standards. Conduct and document detailed quality inspections of all assigned guest rooms and public areas, promptly addressing and correcting any deficiencies found. Provide immediate on-the-job training, coaching, and ongoing support to all team members to maintain high performance standards. Act as the primary communication liaison between the Housekeeping team and other departments, particularly the Front Desk, to ensure efficient room status updates and timely room turnover. Oversee and manage inventory control for linens, towels, toiletries, and cleaning supplies, ensuring accurate par levels, proper storage, and coordinated distribution. Coordinate and assist with on-site laundry operations, monitoring workflow and quality to ensure a consistent supply of clean linens. Identify and report all maintenance issues and safety hazards; initiate work orders and follow up with the Maintenance Department to confirm timely completion. Assist with essential House Attendant duties, including stripping and making beds, cleaning surfaces, replenishing amenities, and supporting room setup/furniture arrangement when needed. Respond to guest inquiries, handle basic concerns in a professional and timely manner, and escalate complex issues to management. Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and cleanliness standards, actively promoting and maintaining a safe working environment. Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in Housekeeping or Room Attendant roles, with at least 6 months of experience in a supervisory, team lead, or quality control capacity. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and train team members on proper cleaning techniques and quality standards. Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail required for conducting inspections, managing inventory, and quality assurance. Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary for effective team leadership, guest interaction, and inter-departmental liaison (e.g., Front Desk, Maintenance). High school diploma or equivalent is required. Background working in seasonal markets is highly desirable but not required. Must be able to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive motions, including lifting and moving heavy items such as guest luggage. Must be comfortable working in various areas of the hotel, including public spaces, guest rooms, pool area, and laundry facilities. Must be comfortable with potential exposure to cleaning chemicals and outdoor weather conditions.Similar remote jobs
