Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Leasing Assistant to join our dynamic property management team. In this vital role, you will support the leasing process from initial inquiry through lease signing, ensuring a seamless experience for prospective tenants. Your expertise in property leasing, customer service, and administrative functions will help foster positive relationships with residents and maintain efficient property operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving community while developing your skills in real estate administration and property management. Duties Assist prospective tenants by providing detailed information about available units, amenities, and leasing options, including Section 8 and LIHTC programs. Manage property listings using Appfolio property management software, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date. Scheduling for showings Prepare and review lease agreements, contracts, and legal documents with attention to Fair Housing regulations and landlord-tenant law. Coordinate with maintenance teams to facilitate property upkeep, repairs, and facilities management to ensure optimal living conditions. Handle tenant inquiries via phone and in person with professionalism and courtesy, maintaining high standards of office etiquette. Support conflict management efforts by resolving tenant concerns promptly and diplomatically while adhering to legal guidelines. Maintain organized filing systems for leasing documents, legal paperwork, and resident records; perform data entry accurately into CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Assist in conducting lease renewals, rent collection processes, and upselling additional services or amenities to residents. Collaborate with the property management team on compliance with Section 8 regulations and other government programs. Qualifications Strong customer service skills with excellent phone etiquette and conflict resolution abilities. Office experience including data entry, filing, and document management; ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently. Demonstrated negotiation skills for upselling units or additional services while maintaining positive relationships. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing individual responsibilities effectively. Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail; familiarity with facilities management practices is advantageous.
