$52.34/hr Updated 08/27/2026 Job Description Overview $52.34/hr Job Summary FT/PT RelocationNo TravelPossible M1 Support Services is looking for an Aircraft Mechanic III - Instrumentation Lead. The Aircraft Mechanic III -Instrumentation Lead is responsible for the overall maintenance and configuration of the F-117Ainstalled instrumentation systems in accordance with the PWS. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Maintains, repairs, modifies aircraft structures and structural components and engines of complex toextreme difficulty.
  • Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics,pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Recommends test and measurement hardware designs, material and devices to assure performance andsafety.
  • Resolves instrumentation limitations or unavailability by modifying existing equipment, fabricating testdevices and related peripheral items needed using new test equipment and measuring devices.
  • Uses practical electronics, mechanical, and aeronautical engineering concepts to fabricate test andmeasurement systems.
  • Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctionsand applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
  • Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technicaldata such as blueprints or manufactures manuals.
  • Provides guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians and work centers throughout all aircraftmodifications and/or maintenance efforts, including more complex tasks, as directed.
  • Maintains aircraft and support equipment forms records IAW Air Force (AF) procedures utilizing AFInformation Systems and forms as required.
  • Performs in a safe and efficient manner acceptable to the Company and customer.
  • Demonstrates a continuous effort to improve operations, streamline processes that reduce cost and/or laborhours and enhance operations.
  • Maintains qualifications contained on the Special Certification Roster (SCR) as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED is required. Associates or Bachelor's degree desired.
  • Minimum of 10-years technical experience working with aircraft data collection and telemetry systems."
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of instrumentation equipment and electronic, mechanical, and aeronauticalconcepts.
  • Must be familiar with T-1, T-2, and
MIL-HDBK-516C
criteria in relation to instrumentation and airworthiness.
  • Experience must include installation, maintenance, and repair of range support instrumentation equipment/systems such as telemetry systems, microwave systems, position location systems, and meteorological instrumentation.
  • Detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, and related is required.
  • Working knowledge of principles applying to aircraft systems, concepts and applications of maintenance directives, data reporting, and using technical data is mandatory.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance; previous or active Top Secret highly desired.
  • Must have a working knowledge of computers and basic computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Will be required to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as: safety toe footwear, safety glasses, etc.
  • Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining a professional and non-confrontational attitude.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.
  • Must possess a current valid U.S. Drivers License.
  • Must speak, read, write, and understand English.
Working Conditions:
  • Position requires complying with unique commuting/travel requirements.
  • Will work in aircraft hangars and outside on aircraft ramps within close proximity of running equipment and aircraft.
  • Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, or overtime shifts as required.
  • May work outdoors, sometimes in hot or cold weather.
  • May be exposed to contaminants.
  • May be exposed to hazardous conditions, such as when standing on scaffolding or climbing ladders
  • Will be exposed to loud and persistent noise
  • Will be required to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as: safety toe footwear, safety glasses, etc.
