Job Description

Sentrixx Security is seeking an experienced Commercial Security Systems Technician with strong knowledge of enterprise-level access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems. This position is responsible for the installation, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, servicing, and customer training of integrated commercial security systems in healthcare, education, industrial, and commercial facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with commercial-grade systems including Lenel, Software House CCURE, S2, DMP, Bosch, Axis, and Schneider Electric platforms. Candidates should be comfortable independently diagnosing system issues, programming devices and software, interpreting construction drawings, and leading projects in the field. This is NOT an entry-level position . Experience in access control and security installation, programming and troubleshooting is required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Install, program, configure, test, and commission integrated electronic security systems including access control, IP video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercom, and perimeter detection systems. Configure and troubleshoot card readers, door hardware, IP cameras, intelligent controllers, and network-connected devices. Perform software setup, database configuration, firmware updates, and end-user training. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and field wiring issues. Read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, device layouts, electrical schematics, and construction documents. Install conduit, pull cable, terminate low-voltage wiring, and label/document completed installations. Work closely with project managers, subcontractors, IT personnel, and customers to ensure successful project completion. Lead or assist with project startups, commissioning, and final customer turnover. Provide service, preventive maintenance, and emergency support for existing customer systems. Participate in after-hours service rotation and occasional regional travel as required.

DMP Bosch Commercial Burglar Alarm Systems Qualifications Hands-on experience with commercial electronic security systems, including access control, video surveillance (CCTV/IP), and intrusion detection. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, construction drawings, and manufacturer documentation. Skill in low-voltage wiring, cable management, device installation, and basic networking for connected security equipment. Proficient in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware and software issues in security systems. Strong organizational and documentation skills, including accurate service reporting and recordkeeping. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients. Commitment to safe work practices, adherence to job-site protocols, and attention to detail in all tasks. Valid driver's license with clean driving record and ability to travel locally to customer sites as required. Relevant technical training or certification in low-voltage systems, security systems, or building automation is preferred. Previous experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional environments is beneficial. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in commercial electronic security systems. Experience programming and troubleshooting enterprise access control systems and IP Video. Strong understanding of IP-based security technologies and low-voltage systems. Ability to independently service and commission systems in the field. Experience with commercial construction environments. Strong communication and customer service skills. Organized, self-motivated, and dependable.
Preferred :
Technical degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Networking, or related field. Manufacturer certifications are a plus. Networking knowledge including IP addressing and PoE systems preferred.

Pay:
$25.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 - 46.0 per week
