Duties Lead the installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes. Read and interpret construction plans, technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure precise system setup and modifications. Perform pipefitting tasks including pipe threading and fabrication to create reliable sprinkler infrastructure. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely to execute complex installation procedures on construction sites. Conduct system troubleshooting to identify issues related to pipe welding, sprinkler fitting, or mechanical components; implement effective solutions promptly. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations by adhering to safety protocol guidelines during every phase of project execution. Mentor junior team members on technical skills such as blueprint reading, pipe installation, troubleshooting, and safety practices while fostering a collaborative team environment. Maintain a rapid-response to Emergency Calls when necessary. Rotating schedule for on-call weeks, and opportunities to pick up emergency calls and overtime services when available. Qualifications Proven experience in fire sprinkler fitting or related construction roles with a strong understanding of NFPA standards. Mechanical knowledge of sprinkler systems, pipe threading, soldering, assembly, and maintenance procedures. Ability to read blueprints and construction plans accurately; interpret technical drawings for precise system installation. Skilled with power tools and hand tools used in construction site environments; committed to safe tool operation following safety regulations. Strong understanding of safety protocol adherence on construction sites; knowledgeable about NFPA standards for fire protection systems. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to pipe fitting and system design; excellent problem-solving abilities. Construction site experience with a focus on pipe installation, fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems; previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
