Duties Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, sheet metal work, and structural repairs using welding repair techniques such as MIG welding and soldering. Utilize fabrication skills to create or modify parts using sheet metal, power tools, and automotive welding equipment. Conduct auto painting, sanding, and automotive refinishing to restore vehicles' appearance to factory standards. Install automotive parts including auto glass, bumpers, trim, and other components with precision. Apply automotive cosmetic repair techniques to ensure vehicles meet quality standards for appearance and safety. Use auto estimating tools to assess damage and determine repair scope; communicate effectively with customers regarding repair processes. Handle heavy lifting safely while performing repairs or moving vehicle components; maintain a clean and organized workspace. Qualifications Proven experience working as an automotive body technician or in a related role within a dealership or collision center environment. Strong knowledge of auto body repair, automotive structural repair, and auto restoration techniques. Proficiency with MIG welding, soldering, welding repair, and fabrication repair techniques. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and automotive painting equipment such as airless paint sprayers. Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems for effective diagnosis and repairs. Experience with auto estimating software and customer service skills for clear communication with clients. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs.
