Automotive Technician / B Level Technician
Job Description
Starting at $18.00 per hour guaranteed base, negotiable based on experience, certifications, skill level, and proven production, plus production bonus. Our proposed production plan pays $20 for each eligible billed hour above 75% efficiency. At 100% efficiency, total compensation is approximately $47,840 per year, with additional upside as production increases. Your hourly base is paid for every actual hour worked, so slow car count, parts delays, approved training, and shop controlled downtime do not eliminate your paycheck. Full Time Monday through Friday Approximately 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM We are looking for a dependable automotive technician who can independently perform general repair and maintenance while continuing to develop stronger diagnostic skills. This is a producing technician position with a clear path toward more advanced diagnostic work and increased earning potential. What You'll Handle Brakes Steering and suspension Maintenance and fluid services Cooling systems Starting and charging systems Batteries and electrical basics Check engine light diagnosis Basic drivability concerns HVAC service and repair Belts, hoses, and accessory components Vehicle inspections General mechanical repair Repair verification and quality control How Our Pay Plan Works Your starting hourly base is $18.00 per hour and is negotiable based on experience and demonstrated ability. More experienced technicians may qualify for a higher guaranteed hourly rate while remaining eligible for the same production incentive structure. The production bonus rewards properly completed and documented work. At a 40 hour week: 75% efficiency: base pay remains protected 100% efficiency: approximately $920/week 110% efficiency: approximately $1,000/week 120% efficiency: approximately $1,080/week Approved training, parts delays, mentoring, and qualifying shop controlled downtime are considered when production is evaluated. Comebacks and rework do not generate additional production credit. What We Expect Do the job correctly the first time. Inspect vehicles thoroughly. Document what you find. Do not sell or replace parts without a reason. Ask for help before guessing. Verify repairs before the vehicle leaves. Keep learning. Take care of the customer's vehicle and the shop's equipment. Qualifications Professional automotive repair experience preferred. Ability to independently complete common maintenance and repair work. Basic diagnostic and electrical ability. Valid driver's license required. ASE certifications are preferred but not required. Equivalent real world experience will be considered. We are especially interested in technicians who may not be an A Level diagnostician yet but have the ability and desire to become one. If you can produce quality work, want to keep developing your skills, and want a pay plan where increased ability and production actually increase your paycheck, we want to talk to you.
