Job Description

Winter Services, a leader in the snow removal industry, is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to work as a full-time, year-round Fleet Mechanic in the MI area. As a Fleet Mechanic, it will be your duty to inspect and repair our company vehicles and equipment (trucks, plows, heavy equipment ETC) as well as perform preventative maintenance to ensure our inventory are running to the best of their ability and will be safe for next season operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains vehicles, which may include a company's fleet of trucks, heavy equipment, etc. Performs routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups. Performs tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function. Identifies mechanical problems. Examines critical parts and systems using a standard checklist. Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts. Plans and establishes timetable to complete repairs and maintenance. Visits job sites and other facilities to inspect vehicles. Has a working knowledge of DOT requirements Test drives vehicle to confirm safe and proper operation. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
A valid driver's license, CDL B Preferred Candidates have availability to work long shifts during the snow season. A great work ethic and attitude Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. Candidate must possess a strong background in brakes, suspension, exhaust and emissions, light fabrication, hydraulics, electrical and diagnostics Prior knowledge of skids, loaders, tractors, etc, is a plus. ASE/Other Certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
