MOBILE SERVICE TRUCK MECHANIC COMPANY SUMMARY M.L.

POSITION SUMMARY

The mobile mechanic will collaborate with other mechanics and repair team members to ensure M.L. Chartier's vehicles are safe and operating proficiently. They will travel to M.L. Chartier facilities including Webberville, Saginaw, Harrison & more to handle major and minor repairs. A professional and well-versed problem solver who is a critical thinker and loves working with trucks and equipment daily. The candidate must be team-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced and continuously evolving shop environment. A positive attitude and open-mindedness are required. Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities Work independently and efficiently at any of our repair facilities or on a jobsite performing mechanical maintenance and repair on both trucks and equipment Must keep service truck, equipment and workshop space clean Diagnoses and repair of hydraulic and electrical systems Run diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpret results Repair brakes, engines, and other associated parts with each truck Handle service calls travelling to jobsites in case of emergency or breakdown Complete oil changes, brake checks, annual inspections and other preventative maintenance Operate forklifts and other equipment as needed in support of repair work Complete detailed work orders for all projects and repairs Team player able to coordinate and work with our mechanics to complete larger builds and projects Adhere to and enforce all safety standards Participate in and promote the safety culture Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Good communication skills are a must, will collaborate daily with shop/fleet manager to coordinate repairs and parts/supplies needed Must have experience working on class 8 trucks Experience with CAT off-road equipment is a plus Possess a Valid Chauffeur's License, with a Valid DOT Medical Card (CDLA or CDLB) also fine. Willing to work until the job is complete Demonstrated ability to work with tools Preferred experience in ESA, Insight, CAT, Bendix Proficient at welding & torching Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment under pressure/deadlines Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities Follow instructions given both orally and written Ability to work independently, with accuracy and in accordance with company safety and quality standards Ability to communicate in English with other employees for the purpose of hazard recognition, problem solving, or other purposes Physical/ Mental Demands Required to exert physical effort that will include but is not limited to frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, crouching, keeling, crawling, balancing, and climbing Continuous standing and walking on shop floor. Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc.) Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, heat, weather extremes or similar elements often Ability to use hands and fingers with dexterity, speak (in English), and hear accurately Continuous concentrated mental and visual attention required Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Tool Reimbursement Program Pay:

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
