Job Description

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Development Representative - Corporate Field Intelligence at Victory Field Operations is responsible for generating significant new corporate revenue by identifying organizations facing community, regulatory, development, entitlement, or public-engagement challenges and positioning VFO's field intelligence capabilities as a strategic solution. The initial primary market focus for this role is the U.S. data center and digital infrastructure industry. This role exists to identify high-value corporate opportunities early, build relationships with the decision-makers responsible for development and community outcomes, and convert those relationships into profitable, long-term VFO engagements.
ABOUT VICTORY FIELD OPERATIONS
Victory Field Operations (VFO) is a national field operations firm that turns high-stakes strategy into measurable outcomes through accountable execution, field intelligence, and disciplined operations at scale. VFO serves campaigns, corporations, and organizations across a range of specialized service lines including ballot access and petition management, corporate and field intelligence, campaign and field programs, public affairs and advocacy, and data center intelligence. Built on integrity, driven by victory, and defined by excellence, VFO operates by a simple conviction: field wins races.
ROLE VISION
The Business Development Representative - Corporate Field Intelligence helps establish VFO as a nationally recognized field intelligence and community engagement partner for companies developing major infrastructure projects. Rather than waiting until a project encounters organized opposition, regulatory problems, or community resistance, this role positions VFO upstream - helping corporate clients understand communities, build relationships, identify risk, and create informed field strategies before problems threaten development timelines or investment. The long-term objective is to develop corporate relationships capable of producing recurring, multi-market, and multi-state revenue for
VFO. SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Significant new Corporate Field Intelligence revenue is being generated consistently with a growing pipeline of high-value corporate opportunities at every stage. VFO has penetrated priority corporate target accounts and built relationships with decision-makers across the data center and infrastructure ecosystem before procurement opportunities are formally open. Qualified opportunities are being created before community or development problems become crises, positioning VFO upstream rather than reactively. Conferences and industry events are producing measurable pipeline results, not simply contacts collected. Every account and opportunity in VFO's CRM reflects accurate, current intelligence that gives executive leadership reliable visibility into sales activity and expected revenue. Successful engagements are expanding into multi-market, multi-site, and repeat corporate relationships. Success is measured by qualified pipeline, revenue, target-account penetration, conversion, and long-term client value — not networking activity, conference attendance, or the number of corporate contacts collected.
OBJECTIVES
Generate profitable new revenue for VFO's Corporate Field Intelligence practice, maintaining full accountability for established individual revenue and pipeline goals. Conduct proactive outbound prospecting to priority corporate organizations, decision-makers, and strategic partners in the data center and infrastructure ecosystem, creating opportunities rather than waiting for inbound leads to arrive. Build and manage a disciplined sales pipeline within VFO's CRM, ensuring every qualified opportunity has a clearly defined stage, estimated value, next action, owner, and expected close timeline. Lead prospects through VFO's sales process from initial engagement through commitment and transition to contracting, maintaining momentum and driving opportunities toward a clear commercial decision. Develop working knowledge of the U.S. data center development ecosystem — including developers, owners, operators, site-selection professionals, government affairs teams, and public affairs teams — and monitor development activity for potential VFO opportunities. Build and maintain prioritized target-account lists, researching organizations before engagement and mapping relevant decision-makers, influencers, advisors, and internal stakeholders. Develop high-quality, account-specific proposals in coordination with Operations, Finance, and executive leadership, presenting solutions in the context of the client's business problem and desired outcome. Clearly position VFO's Corporate Field Intelligence capabilities as distinct from traditional political canvassing, connecting field intelligence to the client's broader development, government affairs, or community-engagement strategy. Represent VFO professionally at priority data center and infrastructure conferences and industry events, developing specific sales objectives in advance and executing disciplined post-event activity. Identify opportunities to expand initial engagements across additional sites, markets, jurisdictions, and projects, developing multiple relationships within strategic organizations rather than relying on a single contact. Facilitate complete and accurate handoffs from the sales process into contracting and operations, ensuring Legal, Operations, and executive leadership have full visibility into scope, pricing, timelines, and client commitments.
COMPETENCIES
Operates as a fundamentally proactive revenue generator who creates opportunities through disciplined outbound effort and strategic relationship development rather than waiting for business to come in. Builds relationships with senior corporate executives and decision-makers responsible for development, site selection, government affairs, external affairs, and community engagement with credibility and confidence. Manages complex, high-value, and longer-cycle corporate sales opportunities with patience and persistence, maintaining momentum without losing sight of the closing objective. Understands consultative and solution-based selling, asking effective questions to uncover the actual business problem behind a prospect's initial interest and positioning VFO's field intelligence capabilities accordingly. Clearly communicates the distinction between VFO's Corporate Field Intelligence capabilities and traditional political canvassing, translating field capabilities into business outcomes relevant to corporate decision-makers. Maintains exceptional follow-through on all active opportunities, preventing qualified pipeline from going stagnant due to lack of communication or action. Uses VFO's CRM with discipline as the authoritative source for all pipeline, account intelligence, and forecasting information, keeping records current and accurate at every stage. Coordinates internal resources across Operations, Finance, Legal, and Marketing without surrendering ownership of the sales process or creating confusion about accountability. Thrives in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment where success is measured by revenue generated, opportunities created, and deals closed rather than activity volume alone.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Real Estate, Political Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience in a corporate B2B sales or business development role will be considered. Minimum three years of business development or complex B2B sales experience required, with a demonstrated track record identifying, developing, and closing new business with corporate clients in real estate development, infrastructure, energy, technology, or related sectors. Demonstrated ability to communicate with senior corporate decision-makers, conduct consultative discovery conversations, and develop solutions based on the client's specific environment rather than selling a predetermined program. Experience identifying target accounts, mapping decision-makers, conducting strategic outbound outreach, and managing longer-cycle sales opportunities through to close. Proficiency in CRM-based pipeline management and sales activity tracking required; experience coordinating proposals, pricing, and handoffs with legal and operations teams preferred. Demonstrated ability to operate independently in a high-accountability environment, manage frequent travel across the United States, and represent a premium brand at industry conferences and events; Michigan residency required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods managing pipeline activity, CRM records, proposals, and sales communications across multiple active opportunities simultaneously. Must be able to travel frequently throughout the United States, including recurring travel to major data center development markets and industry conferences, with occasional travel required on short notice and availability during evenings and weekends as business needs require. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential requirements of this role.
COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY
As an equal opportunity employer committed to meeting the needs of a multigenerational and multicultural workforce, Victory Field Operations recognizes that a diverse staff, reflective of our community, is an integral and welcome part of a successful and ethical business. We hire local talent at all levels regardless of race, color, religion, age, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability, and actively foster inclusion in all forms both within our company and across interactions with clients, candidates and partners.
