Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues across various vehicle systems including powertrain, electrical, suspension, transmission, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Repair and maintain vehicles by executing tasks such as engine repairs (including diesel engines), transmission system repairs, suspension system repairs, wheel alignments, and electrical wiring diagram interpretation. Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle components with precision. Interpret schematics and automotive wiring diagrams to troubleshoot complex electrical issues accurately. Conduct routine vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, brake inspections, tire rotations, and fluid replacements to ensure optimal performance. Diagnose and repair vehicle systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications, including GM vehicles when applicable. Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process. Requirements Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair. Demonstrated mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including powertrain, transmission, suspension, electrical systems, and ADAS technology. Proficiency with automotive diagnostic tools and ability to interpret schematics and wiring diagrams. Hands-on experience with vehicle maintenance tasks such as wheel alignments, transmission repairs, welding, and diesel engine repairs. Familiarity with automotive service procedures including auto estimating processes for accurate job costing. Ability to work efficiently using hand tools, power tools, and specialized automotive equipment in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and professionalism. Valid mechanic experience with dealership or independent shops preferred; experience working on GM vehicles is a plus. Technical proficiency in automotive electrical systems and wiring diagrams interpretation is highly desirable.
