Position Summary The Service Advisor is the primary point of contact for our customers and plays a key role in the success of our shop. This position is responsible for providing an outstanding customer experience while coordinating repairs between customers and technicians. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, motivated, and confident explaining vehicle repairs without using high-pressure sales tactics. Your goal is to help customers understand their vehicle's needs and make informed decisions. Primary ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service Greet customers professionally in person and over the phone. Schedule appointments and manage the daily shop schedule. Maintain clear communication throughout the repair process. Explain inspection results and repair recommendations in simple, easy-to-understand language. Follow up with customers after repairs to ensure satisfaction. Service Advising & Sales Build estimates and repair orders using Tekmetric. Present technician recommendations honestly and professionally. Help customers prioritize repairs based on safety, reliability, and budget. Follow up on declined estimates. Recommend preventative maintenance based on manufacturer recommendations. Help achieve shop sales goals while maintaining complete honesty and integrity. Shop Operations Coordinate workflow between technicians and customers. Order and track parts. Verify parts received are correct. Keep customers informed on repair status and completion times. Close repair orders accurately. Process customer payments. Administrative Duties Answer phones, emails, and text messages promptly. Maintain accurate customer records. Document repair recommendations and technician findings. Assist with warranty claims when necessary. Maintain an organized and professional front office. Marketing & Customer Retention Schedule future maintenance appointments. Encourage satisfied customers to leave Google reviews. Assist with customer follow-up campaigns. Help promote seasonal maintenance specials and shop promotions. Team Support Help wherever needed to keep the shop operating efficiently. Maintain a clean and welcoming office environment. Perform additional duties assigned by management. QualificationsRequired Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Basic sales experience or the ability to confidently recommend needed services. Comfortable learning and using shop management software. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Positive attitude and professional appearance. Preferred Automotive service advisor experience. Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance. Experience using Tekmetric or similar shop management software. Experience ordering automotive parts. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day. Ability to enter and exit customer vehicles. Ability to safely drive customer vehicles when necessary. Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs (9 kg).
