We are looking for quality Diesel Mechanics to join our growing team. An ideal Diesel Mechanic is someone who likes being active, is a creative problem solver, communicates well in a team environment, and has previous diesel mechanic experience. This is not a desk job. Having automobile knowledge is a must, as no two situations are the same and you'll need to make quick decisions under pressure. Tow Truck Operators keep our highways safe and are classified as First Responders. Come join the team and be an important part of your community!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
Perform preventative maintenance and repair of diesel machinery and trailers to meet standards set by DOT. Inspect and repair engines, brakes, suspension, fuel, air, electrical, HVAC and drivetrain components. Diagnose and repair lighting and electrical systems. Knowledge of diagnostic computers and industry-specific software programs. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems with or without assistance. Interpret and understand technical manuals and schematics. Duties will be performed in a variety of conditions including weather conditions (subject to hot/cold), working around moving vehicles and exposure to noise, dust, and fumes. May require lifting/carrying or pushing/pulling of up to 50lbs. frequently or occasionally up to 100lbs. Multi-tasking, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Using computers - email and record keeping required. Excellent customer service skills. All other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Requirements:
Valid driver's license with clean driving record (CDL preferred not required). Must be able to perform work activities such as: standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and reaching for sustained periods of time. Fluent in English and capable of clear written and verbal communication Prior experience in the towing industry preferred but not required. At least one year of prior experience or certification from a Diesel Mechanic program or trade school. Reliably commute to assigned location Offers of employment are contingent upon the results of successfully passing a background screening including a criminal background check, a review of motor vehicle records, social security screening, and a drug and alcohol test as required by law or company policy.
