Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing)

Job Description

Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting plant operations by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and production support infrastructure. This role plays a critical part in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, improving operational efficiency, and maintaining a safe working environment. The Maintenance Technician performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities while partnering with production teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and achieve plant performance objectives. Essential Functions Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, machinery, tooling, and facility systems to maximize operational uptime. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system failures and execute timely repairs to minimize production interruptions. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including motors, drives, sensors, control panels, PLCs, relays, and related automation components. Inspect, maintain, and repair conveyors, production machinery, compressors, HVAC systems, forklifts, and other plant support equipment as assigned. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests to restore operations safely and efficiently. Collaborate with production personnel to identify equipment performance issues, investigate root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions. Support the installation, testing, startup, modification, and commissioning of new equipment and manufacturing processes. Perform equipment changeovers, adjustments, calibrations, and machine setup activities as required to support production schedules. Document maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, parts usage, and equipment history within maintenance tracking systems and work order processes. Maintain spare parts inventory and communicate replacement part requirements to minimize downtime risks. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, productivity, quality, waste reduction, and cost savings. Ensure compliance with all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, electrical safety, confined space requirements, and other applicable regulations. Conduct routine inspections of facility infrastructure, utilities, and production equipment to identify potential risks and proactively address maintenance needs. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and 5S principles. Support plant shutdown activities, preventative maintenance programs, and scheduled maintenance projects. Work collaboratively across departments to meet plant goals for safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
