Job Title:
Maintenance Mechanic / Maintenance Technician - Industrial Manufacturing Job Description This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced production environment. You will work on both electrical and mechanical systems, diagnose issues using diagrams and schematics, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide range of machinery, including collation and inserting equipment. The position requires a strong electro-mechanical maintenance background and the ability to keep production equipment operating safely, efficiently, and reliably. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair industrial equipment with a 50/50 focus on electrical and mechanical systems. Read and interpret diagrams, schematics, and electrical drawings to identify faults and plan repairs. Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance on production machinery to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Inspect, repair, and replace mechanical components such as bearings, shafts, and other moving parts. Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled systems, including identifying issues in PLC control circuits and performing PLC troubleshooting as needed. Conduct electrical troubleshooting on 3-phase power systems and related electrical components to ensure safe and reliable operation. Service and maintain collation inserting machines and other industrial production equipment. Work with hydraulics and pneumatics systems, including identifying leaks, replacing components, and ensuring proper operation. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage to support accurate maintenance records and planning. Collaborate with other maintenance team members and production staff to prioritize work, support continuous operations, and resolve equipment issues promptly. Follow safety procedures and best practices while working on electrical and mechanical systems to maintain a safe work environment. Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues and recommending long-term solutions or upgrades. Essential Skills Proven electro-mechanical maintenance background in an industrial manufacturing environment. Strong ability to read and interpret diagrams, schematics, and electrical drawings. Hands-on experience troubleshooting industrial equipment, including collation inserting machines. Proficiency with mechanical systems, including bearings, shafts, and related components. Experience with PLC troubleshooting and working with PLC-controlled equipment. Solid electrical troubleshooting skills, including working with 3-phase power systems. Experience performing preventive maintenance and repair on industrial machinery. Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics systems and their maintenance. Ability to balance electrical and mechanical work, with approximately 50/50 split between both disciplines. Capability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team in a production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience as a Maintenance Electrician or Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing setting. Familiarity with PLC control systems and industrial control circuits. background in industrial maintenance involving both troubleshooting and scheduled PM work. Comfort working across multiple shifts and supporting a growing maintenance team. Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn new equipment and technologies. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in an industrial manufacturing facility with a strong pipeline of work and ongoing production demands. You will work hands-on with industrial equipment, including collation inserting machines and other PLC-controlled systems, performing both electrical and mechanical tasks. The team operates across multiple shifts, with openings currently on 1st shift (approximately 4:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) and 3rd shift (approximately 8:30 p.m. - 4:30 a.m.), supporting round-the-clock operations. The environment is typical of a production plant, where you will regularly work around machinery, 3-phase electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics. A professional, safety-conscious approach and appropriate industrial work attire are expected to ensure safe and efficient operations. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Commerce, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $70720.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
