Sunset Church is seeking a well-rounded, hands-on Facility Maintenance Technician to oversee our church buildings and grounds.

Responsibilities Building & Grounds Care:

Perform routine inspections and hands-on repairs of building systems (plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC), while managing preventative maintenance schedules and work orders.

Team & Vendor Leadership:

Supervise custodial and grounds personnel, while coordinating external contractors for specialized maintenance and capital projects.

Safety & Security:

Manage access control, fire/life-safety systems, and surveillance while ensuring compliance with local building codes and leading emergency protocols.

Event & Budget Support:

Coordinate room setups/teardowns and basic A/V for weekly services and events, order supplies, and assist with facility budget management. Other duties as assigned

Experience Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent required plus 3+ years in facilities and building maintenance, or related trade.

Technical Skills:

Broad practical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and custodial operations, along with basic computer literacy.

Physical Capabilities:

Comfortable lifting heavy objects (not to exceed 50 lbs.), climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, and working indoors and outdoors.

Soft Skills:

Highly organized, proactive problem-solver, with excellent communication skills and a flexible schedule for weekend/evening event support or emergencies. Ability to work independently and with a minimum of supervision required. Religious Requirements
